zeovit is a big waste of money unless you are dedicated to the full system and if you do it with certain supplements be VERY careful as it will drop your Alk and cause algae growth on the glass. Just keep up with the parameters keep a weekly water change schedule,feed and dont put your hands in the tank

+1000 on that, Zeovit is a big waste. I agree with you 100%. I also try my best no to put my hands inside my tank. Large tongs and plastic sticks are my best friends. Lots of water changes here also.

I guess one of the biggest disadvantages to a small tank is lack of good skimmer options. I have a solana that is well mod'd (fuge in first chamber, hydor slim skim in 2nd and carbon and gfo in reactors as well). My biggest problem is phosphates. Of the past 7 days, two times I fed twice a day, and my phosphates jumped from .017 to .051 ( I use the HI 736 ultra low range for phos testing). For GFO I use the BRS High Capacity GFO. After 7 days I was really surprised at the increase in algae as well.

I'll be doing a large WC tomorrow to compensate. My parameters over the last 7 days have been the following:
SG: 1.025
pH: 7.95-8.04
Mag: 1360 (constant)
Calc: 470
Alk: 10

On top of having average colors I don't see much growth, its quite frustrating. At this point I'm just trying to get growth in my duncans, torch and frogspawn.

Maybe I need to do biweekly water changes...I'm not sure.
