how much of your tank was grown from frags

personally i guess it was as much of me being cheap as the joy of knowing i turned 1 or 2 polyps into a colony or grown a sps from a small piece into a colony. currently the only two thing that didnt start as a frag are my two maricultured milli's one pink and one blue, everything else has been grown from a frag

Just about every SPS from a frag. The best part is watching it grow. No other way for me. Frag the way to go.....

for the same reasons. I don't have enough money to buy a colony out right considering I'd like to spread my money as far as possible. I also like to be surprised by a new polyp or increases in size for sps.

I also would be less likely to continue to outfit my tank if I bought colonies and found them dead for one reason or another. Harder to replace that and coral deaths happen to everyone even those with great husbandry/clean tanks (rtn much?)

What about when a friend holds a frag for you and you get it back as a mini colony. LOL

My green monti I got was one of my first was about the size of a half dollar its now about 3x3 most are still frags but gained size.It is nice to see them grow,my candy canes I got 10 heads from someone here I have 28 in a few months these things grow like crazy.

Very few. Most were colonies that just got bigger. I have LPS only. I did not have much luck with a couple heads growing into a big colony except for two. They were 6-8 heads and started dying down to one head and now both are over 10 heads.

I can only afford frags but I've had good luck growing some to softball size and larger. I had a green birds nest that grew to soccer ball size then just melted away practically overnight.
I never figured out what happened.
