I have them a couple of months now and they make a big difference in growth and color. They seem well built and look real nice hanging. For $175 and a USA warranty it seemed like a good choice.

If a fixture like the Oceanrevive started offering individual channel control, and the ability to plug an Apex/Reef Angel into it for not much more $, there would be no reason to buy anything else on the market. I'm patiently waiting for that day for my next upgrade.

Those fixtures have been out for a while. They are generic lights that others buy in bulk and make minor changes to them. They then slap their name on them and sell them.

Could agree more...seems like most of the lights you see( taotronics, reef breeders, evergrow)they all look the same inside and out.
I guess it all depends on the corals you have to better decide on what can be used.
I have the evergrow it 2040 and have better growth and color than I did with metal halide or T5's(but that's my opinion)..either way you go make sure it's full spectrum and dimmable as they are very bright and can do damage to any corals.and don't forget to acclimate the corals to LED's.

Are there an led fixtures that work welll with the reef angel?
I am thinking about getting a reef angel so i am thinking about how the led would work with it.

AI or gen 1 radion work well. Any light with either 0-10v analog or PWM control will work. There are a few out there, but not enough. And most lights now have their own controller so you can't bypass. Theres some efforts being made with success on controlling the d120. I'm watching patiently.

I love mine. I got them off e-bay. 120W dimmable, US seller. They're cheaper now. I spent $286.00 free shipping. Awesome lights.

+1

got the same light. they also have the same looking light for cheaper which is NOT dimmable. I would definitly recomend getting the dimmable model though.

great intro led light. might not have all the bells and whistles as these others but you cant beat the price and i can grow sps pretty low in the tank.

I went for the these because they look much nicer hanging then the Reefbreeders. Its a much cleaner looking build. I'm not well versed in the in the details of the different Led's so I don't know if one is better then the other. Since my tank is in my living room my wife did have a say in picking them for aesthetic reasons.
