I checked my ATO container today and the reading was through the roof damn near toxic

I've been having some serious algae blooms and couldn't figure out why I think I know now lol

The weird part is that my tap water is 50ppm. And my other reservoir container read at 75 ppm TDS.

Needless to say I changed my rodi filters and now water comes out at 0 TDS.

I guess it's a good idea to clean those containers once in a while.

Yup, great idea. Every couple of months I completely drain my 35 gal Brute of RODI water. Then wipe it down with paper towel. I get some brown-looking stuff on the bottom.

I wish I would of known this before every single coral got covered w hair algae. But at least I found the reason and leaned something new about this hobby.

Seems like a really important thing to do, even though I've never heard anyone mention it.

Seems to me this is a top priority!

Every other week i let my 5 gallon ATO go as low as it can and just clean it up with the remaining little bit of water. And my 20 gallons RODI reservoir i clean it every other month. Even like that i still get some brown stuff from the bottom. Sometimes the problems are the little things we overlook.
