Foam Pad

Hi MR.
How often the foam pad before the return pump should be clean or replaced??
I clean mine twice a week Is that normal or is it something wrong with it??
I clean it because the water doesn't go thru as is supposed to. And everytime i clean it and put it back my water get a little cloudy.
Should i get another one and just replace everytime i clean while i rinse the other 1??
Any advise will be appreciated.

if you have a sock in your sump, it should take a while before it needs cleaning. is it dirty when you clean it?

I clean mine maybe once every 3-4 months. After a sock, skimmer, and cheato, it doesn't get too dirty. Sometimes ill take a toothbrush to the top part if it gets too much algae or something
