I hve a mr aqua and this time I wanna do things properly.

Just ordered test kits and will be dosing; tank will be zo dominated and they will be expensive so can't mess up. Any suggestions are good. Want less maintainece no chance of leaking so no sump and want to keep it simple but stable as possible. If u guys have any suggestions as to equipment that's a must for stability let me know. Thanks

I like that my controller (setup on my big tanks) can tell me if anything goes wrong like temp goes up or down by email alert since I am not there to monitor. Also I have my ato setup with some safety measures. I just purchased a tunze 3155 for my nano setup as I worry about overflow with no sump.

What will you be dosing? I am doing a frag tank setup so am interested in this if it accelerates growth.

I have some bottles of cal and all but wanted to go brs. How do u prevent a top off from overflowing I have a jbj I am hesitant to setup

Do not dose anything in your tank do weekly water changes that will replace trace elements and keep tank stable zoas and Lps do not need Alk & cal dosing. Just make sure your salt is fully mixed and salinity & temp are the same as the tank...

+1 - regular water changes are the key, should not need to dose. I would recommend a controller (Apex, RA, whatever) to maintain stability and control. Keep the tank stable and replenish trace elements and you should be golden.

Controllers can be very simple or crazy complicated. All up to you. Best thing is go on website and explore a little. Most allow remote access via cell

Orp, conductivity, pH, leaks, probably more. Importantly they allow for automatic prevention by acting upon rises/falls in monitored values. You can control and monitor your tank remotely while your away which is very cool
