These shows are great but I am curious how fast will the fake coral get algae built up? They make it seem like the coral will always look that good.

There was an episode. On fish tank kings. It was pathetic. They transferred his existing 75 or 90 gallon corals. And added only 3 or 4 corals. You only see rock work mostly. They only put hardy Lps in the tank. They went to the Ora farm to find corals.

Fish Tank Kings had an episode a few weeks ago that showed how a coral insert looked like poo after a while. I forgot the restaurant but they had to pull the inserts out an make new ones. -

I would think its gotta be hard shooting a coral tank because you cant just instantly create a coral tank and throw corals in the way they just throw 100 fish in on one episode. I am curious to see Fish Tank kings new facility once completed. largest in FLA!

I think it was Rainforest Cafe. Not sure which one it was but i'm pretty sure that was it

I guess with the fake coral , you would have to use a wet/dry system for biological filtration. Never noticed much in the way of how they took care of this.

Agreed I like "Fish Tank Kings" better. Appears less scripted. "Tanked" makes me want to punch my own face! They are just too rehearsed and corny for my taste. I really only watch for the amazing tanks they do produce. Also have a hard time accepting how fast these tanks go from empty to fully stocked in a single day...

A+++ on that..I been to many aquariums in just about every state I been to and most of them (90%)use the fake coral.camden,Nj,coney island ,NY,Boston,Massachusetts are probably the only aquariums I seen that use real coral.and there mostly soft coral
