Clam help.

Y blue maxima just stopped opening all the way. No change in parameters , I checked for pests dont see any. Any ideas? He isabout a year old.

have you checked for pests when the lights are out with a flashlight you usually see them better at night. What kind of fish do you have any blennys or gobys that can be perching or nipping

also those zoas and candy canes are really close to the mantle maybe its irritating or stinging the clam at night

I have 4 fish 2 gobys , clown and anthiud. I just perched him up there he was usually in the sandbed. I thought sandworm might be the prob so I moved him.

he was close before you put him by the corals?did you hurt his foot when you moved him?

gobys and blennys have been known to nip at mantles i had a clown goby taking chunks out of a squamosa and a algae blenny nipping at a maxi awhile back and my buddys comb tooth blenny is doing it now in his tank

No I don think I damaged him . When I get home ill put him in a good spot with no other near him.

yeah I think that's a good idea and check at night for pests and if none of these factor in it could be pinched mantle best of luck bud let me know

When I got home yesterday he was closed . Got up this morning and the hermit crabs were all on him . Poor clam .

What kind of light and how far down from the surface was he sitting on the sandbed?

Aisol blues w 30 b 80 rb 80 10 in awl .I don't think it was the lights he was over a year old .yes I think they were chowing down on him. Pisses me off here is a pic of him 2 weeks ago.
