Hi everyone,

Can someone give me advice on a slime that is collecting in the bio wheel filter of my tank? What would cause this to happen? Has anyone experienced this before? Please let me know. Thanx

Thanx for your reply. It sort of looks like yellowy and very mildewy. Honestly, like when a person has a bad cold that there buggas is very much slimmy. Sorry I had to get a little graphic about it!

I did a major cleaning yesterday and it may not be very visible. All chemical levels are normal nothing is affected. I just concern, this hasn't happen in the past. I've had the take to 3+ yrs. All I dose on is with Kent Coral vite. I'm not sure what this might be.

Is the slime on the bio-wheel? Ummm if you're still running a biowheel I'd take it off, personally.

Probably just dirt built up over time in the filter. Needs a good cleaning most likely.
