It's funny to me that every now and then I am amazed at how far a reefer goes for the gear and corals they want to get into the homes and tanks they love so much!.

I found myself in the Staten Island mall parking lot closing a deal with a reefer we all know as selkoner , now it's not uncommon to travel to sell and buy but on this specific deal I felt as though it was a true show of dedication on selkoners side , he contacted me expressing his interest in the items I was selling , he also stated that it was for a friend he was helping out , so not only is he helping a friend .........he was traveling from nj to do it and meet me in a parking lot to make it happen !! .

In the end despite my price being firm , I worked down a price lower than he offered just to help him out as well considering gas and toll and I definitely think his friends very lucky to have a dedicated reefer friend go above and beyond to get that tank wet !.

True reefers stick together , thanks again selk! If there is anything else I can do just let me know , and when your friend is setup and cycled , I got frags for him to get started with.

How far will you go for a saltwater friend???

Thats exactly how i think. Is just a different feeling knowing u help another person or reefer in this case.

Being very new to the hobby there is little help to give but I have offered to house a friends corals in my system after he had a major leak in his. I can not wait for the day to come when I can assist the way mentioned above.
Since joining I have met and spoke with a lot of great people in the community and all have made me feel like family or part of a tight conmunity who share a common bond. Thank you all...

Offering your tank as a home for someone else's livestock is a risk in itself , I commend you on that for sure

Hello everyone. I'm boogie and I'm new to the salt water tread. I started this in late June 2013. But with in my lil time I have learn a lot. And I would like 2 thank a few ppl that helped me get this far. First I would like to think Julio from bk don't know his name on here. But he the one that told me about this group thanks.2 is koolaidreef for my first set of pieces of live rock. 3 is brainreef I brought my first corals from. Buckoland I brought my 9.5 from Sanmanreefer he gave me my first h/crab and 2 pieces of rock and a lot of good info. Arnaldo I brought the uv light from him and he gave me some nice frags.lol and I was told if I every need help or have a ?i can always ask him (and since that day I have none stop ) Reefkings12 I brought my first 75 rimless from him. Reefnqueens thanks for the free frags.reefmonkey13 I brought fish from him Willyb. Tanks for the tank great guy 2 deal wit. Lol he got out the bed @7 in the morn n so we can meet up. If u need something ask him if he don't have it then he can get it. And prices are great. Redseamax130d I brought my rodi unit from. (Wow Thanks u saved me a lot of money and man power). Tommyp I brought my 2 hydor koralia from. J10369 thanks for the free cheato lol even thro we meet on the Verrazano bridge in s/I while u was working. Thanks from the great tips on my sump lighting. Docdave thank u for the free cheato the 90 gallon tank. And he even sold me 2 frags or a good price. Flytexx I brought the three tangs from him. Great price. I know it's a few ppl that I forgot and I'm sorry. But thank u to everybody that helped, answer, or gave great ideas

I would like to thank greybolt, who was a phenomenal help when I entered the hobby. For months he served as my ro source and was a great guy to deal with all around.
Cmantis- great guy who offered coral deliveries to help me out and was a great guy to chat with. Columbia University let's go!
Nano reefer- woohoo! Great guy who offered replacements for corals that didn't do we'll in my system
