Reconditioning an old tank

So for my father in laws birthday, I decided to surprise him with a 35 gallon hex I bought used. It was originally oak but I spray painted it matte black. Need some advice.

1) What's the best way to get scratches out of glass?

2) What's the best way to get paint off of glass?

3) Anyone have a hood for a 35 gallon hex? Extra canister filter for sale? Fake plants? Rocks for African cichlids?

His birthday is next week and I want this tank rockin'. Thanks guys.

How bad r the scratches have heard a certain tooth paste will take sm ones out

Which tooth paste? How do I apply it?

Unless the scratches are extremely minute you are not going to remove them with toothpaste. If they do not disappear when the tank is filled you can forget about removing them.

Getting paint off the glass is as simple as a single edge razor blade.
