Live rock question

Does live rock still live even without light?i cant get rid of aptasia for at least 1 year so i am putting all my live rock in my 55g sump and just leaving a couple of pieces in my main tank.will this affect the filtration? thanks

Still live as long as the bacteria still exists. Should be fine as long as there are no corals.

Lights out wont kill aiptasia.

+1 Have you tried to rid them somehow. There are plenty of methods. Lights won't kill them. See if you can borrow or rent a majano wand

Dude that's crazy! Just look into livestock that eat aptasia! There are some shrimp and a few butterfly fish that do so.
If you put in the sump you are going to help it multiply as it will be in a high flow area.

I didnt put the live rock in the sump to kill the aptasia, I just want less rock in my main tank this way I can control tha aptasia better .I have a mojano wand that works but its very time consuming. this Iis what my tank looks like now I am just going to keep a couple anemones and some zoas

I had aiptasia in my frag tank,my copperband ate the ones in the DT so i added 2 peps to my frag tank and they were gone in 3 days
