Which Pump for Basement Sump?

Hey guys...so I am planning on downgrading within the next few weeks to a beautiful 150G tank that I already picked up. I want to keep my new setup simple, compared to my current setup. I would like to keep the same sump I have which a 120 and leave it in the basement. I plan on making a closet around it and tuck away all other equipment so it is as compact as possible. Upstairs I'll have the 150 and I am guesstimating that it would be about 8-10 feet of hose to reach a the 2-3/4" return nozzles. At the moment I am using a Reeflo Hammerhead but given the upgrade I would like to go with something smaller that uses less energy. Any thoughts on a good pump? So far I am thinking of the following

- Blueline HD 55
- Panworld 150PS
- Reeflo Snapper/Dart Hybrid Gold
- Gen-X PCX-55
Please keep in mind, the best choice for me would be something that would give me around 500gph (give or take a couple hundred) as a return flow and more importantly, the most efficient, not trying to average 275W on my return pump alone anymore.

If you have other recommendations, they will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Fortunato

Im using a big Reeflo pump to move water from my basement sump to the display tank directly overhead. At the pump the pressure is like a fire hose, by the time it reaches the returns in the tank it feels just a trickle. I would suggest you stay with a your hammerhead because you already own it, and will have enough pressure in the tank to provide some flow. You're paying for the electricity anyway, you might as well get the benefit of the tank flow from it.
If there's too much flow, you could just add a ball valve and restrict it a bit.

Idk I mean your suggestion makes sense because I wouldn't need to make an additional purchase but I would much rather save a few bucks on electricity since I will just be reinvensting what I make on the hammerhead once I get rid of it.

Use the Super Dart Gold pump, even adding the extra head pressure for elbows and friction loss you should be over 1200 GPH to the tank using 170 watts. The PCX-40 will be lucky to give you 600GPH, the Panword and Blueline average 190W with under 1000 GPH.

The downside to the ReeFlo is you'll need to re-drill for a 2IN bulkhead but will save around $16 per month in electric.

i have a blueline 70 in basement feeding separate fuge, 2 reactors and 8-10' of head for my 150 and its too big. the 50 should do it, but as mentioned you already have a pump so figure out if the wattage difference is worth it.

And you hit it right on the head, I was going to quit if I didn't find a nice downgrade tank. The nice thing about all this is that it's going in the living room now instead of my crappy basement so you know I'll be taking much better care of it.

Im using the reeflo blowhole in the basement up to my 180. So far i like it. Its so quiet you dont even know its on until you stick your ear right up to it. It has 3 setting for amount of flow and im on the second setting. Downside is its very hot to the touch upside is enough head for my 12 ft to the tank and quiet

I'm actually using a Water Blaster 10000 @ 97 watts
It's pushing up from a basement sump maybe 6' horizontal and 12' vertical. 1" line tee'd down to two .75" outputs.
The output is not much, maybe from a touch/feel, 200~300 Gph per output but is what I wanted to achieve since the total drain amount is coming down an 1.5" pipe and into a 7" 100 micron sock that would clog totally within 5 days. If the flow was much higher, I would be changing the filter sock every other day in which I have no desire to do.
The pump can do more but I have it manifolded to feed another tank above the sump at the rate of about 500 Gph.

How long you running that low a turnover through the sump? Interested to see how the tank temps do in the winter or did you move a heater to the display?

What do you mean low turn over? The 2700 that I have is a beast. I don't even have it on the 3rd setting way to powerful

I've been running a low turnover to the main tank (sump is not to low actually cause of two tank drains) for about 5 years now. No heater in the display cause the sump is where it gets cold (basement setup) during the winter.

Duke, sorry thought when you said had the pump on the middle setting you were opting for low turnover thru the sump, 13' spec has the 2700 running 800 GPH @ 195W; with friction loss and fittings the GPH would be less.
