if you start adding wrasses to such a small tank they will demolish your pod population. the mandarin is going to have a hard time finding food since they are not competitive eaters. Try something else.

If the hydroids aren't bothering anything then I wouldn't bother going through the trouble in adding a disruptive fish like the 6line which can possibly cause other issues in the tank with your fish.

One non invasive way of dealing with it is using a little frag glue in the openings where the hydroids are coming out of. It will stop them from popping out and possibly stinging things. Those little blobs of glue will be coated over with coraline in time. Just don't overdo it.

Regardless, if they aren't actively stinging anything then don't bother removing them. They aren't invasive and won't overpopulate your aquarium like mojano's, aptasia, or turf algae will. They are actually doing more good than bad being in your tank as long as they aren't flowing on top of coral.

To much worrying in this hobby. If you want to worry about things go for the pests that you can't get rid of and wreck havoc on your tank ie..AEFW,red bugs, manjano, aiptasia and nudis. If hydroids were a real nasty pest there would be more threads about them. tHey will disappear on their own. When they start disappearing don't say it was because of the 6line most likely it wasn't

i believe they have actually started to wipe out my birds nest and bothering my sunny D, pink zipper and seduction colonies. i added the 6 line and will either remove him or my mandarin in a week or so and add him to one of my other tanks or just feed my mandarin shrimp eggs, he likes those. Also added a peppermint shrimp and i actually see him messing around the spots where the hydroids are, not sure if he eats them... but hes up to something

You'll have an easier time inventing a time machine to go back to the day before you put him in than catching a 6 line without breaking down the tank.
not true. A little plastic bag, fishing line , food, and a rock to weigh it down you'll be surpised how curious the little guy is. You ever hear curiosity killed the cat well curiosity will also catch fish lol
