Hi,

Im looking to start dosing my tank with calc/mag. Currently I have just been dosing with purple up. I dont really want to use a two part solution. Right now, I am considering using Seachem Reef Complete. Any suggestions, recommendations? Also, what would be the best way to test calc/mag? Any probes you could recommend?

Regarding your last question:

There are no probes that can last a long time to measure Calcium etc. There are electronics monitors (like this one, but you cannot leave them constantly in the water as if it were a pH probe. So manual testing (with reagents) is the way to go.

I personally test every week for KH, Ca, Mg. But that is mostly because I have been dosing for a couple of months so i just need to adjust.

When I started I was testing every day, then every other day, etc.

I highly recommend Salifert tests. I like Elos too, but counting the drops is not really fun compared to reading a quantity on the dosing syringe.
