When the powerheads turn on I?m finding an abundance of floating debris. I?m assuming this is dead matter that is on the rocks and being kicked up. Tonight I will be brushing the rocks andvacuuming up what I can. However, this leads me to think that maybe I have a larger problem which is flow.
Equipment Specs:
Tank: 120G Corner Overflow
Return Pump: Ehiem 1262 (labeled 4)
Powerheads: (1) Tunze 6105 TurbelleStream (labeled 2), (2) Tunze Turbelle 6100 (labeled 1 & 3)
I have the multicontroller set up on Interval. Left side runs for an hour, then the rightside for an hour. I think my issue is thereturn pump nozzles. They don't have many links so I have them facing slightly downwards so surface debri can go through the overflow. This means they too are kicking up the matter on the rock. I'm not sure the downward angle is enough and suspect that the return pump flow is interfering with the powerheads pushing debri through overflow.
The attached diagram is how I currently have the powerheads set up in the tank. All powerheads are roughly at the same height. The smaller 6105 is pointing slightly downwards as well as the return pump nozzles.
Would love to get feedback on how it is currently set up and suggestions on how to better increase flow (if necessary).
Money is always an issue. I have to play with the cards that i'm dealt. I can't afford to go out and buy new equipment so please limit any comments that suggest the acquisition of new equipment.
Thanks!!!
