Look at my water condition..

:irked: I did 2 water change in a week, 1st one was about 10% then the 2nd one was 25%. Here is the level :

Salt 1.022
Am 0.1
Nirate 50
Nirite 0.1
KH 120
CA 500
PH 8.5

I believe I have to do another 25% water change! The calcium is always so high, I just don't know why?? Maybe ofcoz of the Oceania salt, good thing is everything in my tank doing good.

What inhabitants do you have?
Judging from your ammonia and nitrite levels, you're not done cycling yet. Unless something just recently died in your tank, fouling the water. :splitspin

It's a 90G with a 30G sump, I had my 30G for 1 year then I upgraded to this 90G for 4 months.

I believe I have done the cycling, and you are right! A 3" tang just died few days ago. I don't have too many inhabitants, maybe I have 20+ hermit carbs, 1 sand star & 5 turbo snails.

I usually keep my salinity @ 1.025.
Is there a tank issue? Are your corals ok? Whats the problem?
I'm not too knowledgeable on calcium/alkilinity, someone will soon chime in.

Pecan2phat said it might be your Oceanic salt...problem solved. Try changing salts and test again.

Nothing is wrong, I heard that calcium should not be too high, but mine is over 500.

If your corals are fine, then I don't recommend you changing anything. I use Oceanic salt, dont test anything, but my inhabitants seems happy so why stress yourself? What might work for others, might not work for you so don't try to fix something thats not brokened.:tongue1:

K what test kits are you using? 500ca sounds really high, unless the salt mix is screwed up.
also raise the salt level to 1.024-25

your lucky the coral you got from me is used to high No3

do some serious water changes to get that down though.

Hey J...haha that's good then..everything I got from you, they are doing pretty good here. The test kit that I'm using is by Hagen, its a liquid form test kit, anyone knows if this is good or not?

Water changes using Oceanic salt will do little to lower your calcium levels, in fact, it might be raising them. Marrone posted a great article on calcium levels in your other thread. Like Froggie said, problem solved...

What is, of immediate concern is the ammonia and nitrite readings using Hagen test kits. Without knowing how much live rock or what other filtration methods you are using, my suggestion is not to add any more livestock until those two parameters read 0 and remain there for some time.
