Meteor shower bleaching

Had this for a few years. Has grown from a frag to covering a part of a whole rock. Out of nowhere it started bleaching/dying off towards the bottom and it's spreading slowly. Any ideas what would cause this out of no where. All levels are in range. No changes. Will it stop or will it bleach completely?

No. It's actually way further than it looks in pic

if it did get stung, i would cut off the bleached part before it spreads.

It is spreading. How do I cut the bleached part. Never done this before? The coral is encrusted on whole rock and wraps around the whole side
If I don't cut will it not just stop receding. ?

Since it's spreading, I would make an afford to cut it. Prob will be extremely difficult to do that depending on your rock work and the hight of the tank. Perhaps use a chisel of some sort.

You have more experience than those trying to help you.
Nothing lives forever. I would let nature take its course. Sometimes corals just die away and sometimes they stop at some point and then make a come back.

You could use a dremel maybe..

Try changing flow direction sometimes that helps. Softies tend to release muchus at night and probably it got stung

Thanks. Looks like it stopped. Hopefully bleached part will color back up in time
