I purchased a nice toadstool leather about 2 weeks ago. In the store it was very open and around medium level of the tank. With me, placed it at all three levels and gave each level about 4 days to settle. The only time Isee it completely open is when iI first turn my light on. It looks veey nice but once my light is on for no more than 15min, it shriveks up until the next day. What is wrong here?

one thing about toadstool is they are sensitive to moving. when i got mines it didnt open up for like week and a half straight and then it start opening up and took off from there. just put it in one spot. not alot of flow. lighting shoudn't be an issue as they can take variety of light.

the key is not to touch them with your HANDSSSSSSS

I had the same problem when I made the switch from metal halides to LEDs.mine took almost 2 months to acclimate to the new lighting and I'm sure where ever you bought the toadstool that it wasn't under LEDs.i would put it mid level of the tank and have medium flow on it.usually once it starts to adjust to its position in the tank and the LEDs it will most likely shed..that's how I found out it was happy where it was...good luck let us know how it does!dont be a stranger!welcome to manhattan reefs by the way!

Toadstools

+1 When I moved from MH to LEDs it took almost 2 months before mine opened up nicely. I have 2 in my tank, one is the size of a basketball. In my experience they also dont like being moved as when I upgraded,it took almost 2 months before they were happy again.
