Wingo, maybe you should post more info and not just show a picture. This isn't a guessing game, that's serious stuff. Hope all is well. If it happened to you, get some polyfilters and carbon and start running it immediately! Good luck!

Man i tell you, people just don't learn, and probably never will. How many times have people said that rio's are no good? I still can't believe that there are reefers using rio's in their tank.

A rio almost crashed my friends tank the other day too. I told him that's what you get for being cheap. Now he lost 10 times more than what the POS powerhead is worth!

How is your tank?

Sorry to hear this. This seems to happen often with the rio pumps. Like pedro say get some polyfilters and carbon. If you can do a 100% waterchange, that would be good. If you tell more about your systems maybe we can troubleshoot potential problems. Goodluck.

It happended when I am not in the club, so not sure how long and how it happened. One thing for sure-I have noticed stray current once a while(like two three times) when I work on the tank. Tried couple times to ID it but with no avail, including putting one probe it the water and the other to all possible EQ in the tank. Then last morning, I notice it's cloudy and see not much water movement. I see a sheet of plastic like stuff on the surface-I think something bad must have happened. I inspected the tank more and saw the top of the powerhead blown open so I go shut down the power of the tank. Oddly, there no circuit breaker poped. I will open the thing to see if it's due to rust(like what Mag pumps are famous for) or something have gotten inside to crush the thing this week end.

Wingo, how is the livestock? Is everything ok? Which tank did this happen on?

You need to take alot of pictures to show these F'ing A-holes what their pumps are worth.

Total tank crash?

I would say 50%

One fish, one shrimp, couple corals, most if not all worms.

I bet all rocks are dead. So will restart this tank.

Most stuff traded from other members survived except a beloved cactus. Stuff I bought myself melted or show no hope of survival including my beloved yellow flower pot and brain which I revived from almost dead situtation to about 6" when extended.
