So, Ive now either given away, or sold every tank I own in preparation for my move. The last 2 tanks arent even drained yet and Im starting to get a little bummed out. I will definitely need to have another tank in my new house, but Im not doing another 500 gallon system any time soon. Im thinking something reasonably sized, stocked with something interesting.

I think I would love to have an octopus they are really smart, curious and entertaining. Anybody with experience have any advice? I know they're smart enough to figure out how to escape from a simple aquarium. How hard is it to keep one inside the tank? Do I need a tank with a hermetically sealed top. What are the practical issues with housing one? Will it try to dismantle the plumbing in the tank? Which species? How much do they eat? Can I just toss in a bunch of live crabs and let him eat them at his leisure, or will it eat them all at once?

thanks!
