I just had this discussion with a friend of mine. has anyone sucessfully kept a sohal tang and a clown tang or even possibly a purple tang together with great success? These are both very aggressive and territorial fish so I find it very unlikely. Maybe when they are small as they get older and more mature things could be a problem. i have a 240 gallon and a 265

Probably not a good idea to keep a Sohal and Clown tang together, as both are very aggressive, the Clown usually right off the bat, and the Sohal when it gets larger. Even small Clown tangs can be problems with other tangs, so it can really be hit or miss trying to mix them together, but if you do it would be best to mix them with a tang that has a different shape, like a Purple or Hippo tang. You can usually do it with Sohal tang until they get larger, around 8"-10", and then they become problems, even to point of killing the other tang. Usually in the end the Sohal does better by itself in an aggressive tank with other fish like Groupers, Triggers and Angels.
