GFO and Carbon amounts?

I purchased a SpectraPure dual reactor for GFO and Carbon. I am currently running just a Nextreef gfo reactor. 65G tank with 30G sump setup. What quanities of each should I use in the reactors? Thanks!

Depends on the brand of media you are using. I have the same size tank, I use 14tbsp of BRS GFO and 8tbsp of BRS ROX 0.8 carbon.

I have BRS GFO and carbon. I thought that one would use more carbon than GFO. Thanks for info.

BRS GFO has different absorption rates depending on which type you have.

brs has gfo, carbon calculator. very helpful.
why didn't you just buy another next reef reactor, being that gfo and carbon require different flow.

The instructions from BRS are 1tbsp per 4 gallons for the GFO and 1tbsp per 10 gallons for the ROX carbon

I liked SpectraPure's double reactor. One line in that splits with separate controls to adjust each and one "Y" return all for $75. Another Nextreef is $110 and I like that I now have my sump in the basement I can mount SpectraPure's on the wall for ease of maint.

i didn't know they were controlled individually, thats a good idea and less clutter.
