Looking into maybe running bio-pellets. Right now filtration consists of my skimmer, a media basket (floss/purigen/chemipure), mini reactor with PhosBan and a 5-watt UV. Using ESV salt for water changes, 5 gallons every week to a week and half. Keep mostly softies and LPS at the moment but there are a few SPS I would like to keep as well.

My question is, does it make sense to remove the Phos-Ban and tumble the bio-pellets?

In my experience with biopellets, I got to a nitrate deficient state before PO4 reached an acceptable level. So I had to run some form of PO4 remover (GFO/Phosban) in parallel.

How high are your nitrates/phosphates that you are considering biopellets?
