Macro went sexual

So I'm not sure whether it is an emergency so hope some will give feedback. So it happened with in minutes I guess. I turned around and saw my tank really cloudy, took a look at the sump and saw my jungle of culerpa turned white (got 2 kinds of leafy culerpa). Jumped online to see what was happening and found that this meant that it went sexual. I am making water now (something I wanted to get done yesterday) and am going to change 30g of water. Total system 150+(35-40g sump), havent checked my levels yet but will soon.

Can someone let me know if this is something to worry about and treat it like a full-blown emergency.

It can be. Do a water change , add new carbon and throw that stuff out. Thats the reason I will no longer use calerpa. Use chaeto instead. If your home tuesday I can drop some off to you

Thanks bro, I actually just rid the fuge of the that stuff. Been wanting to do that for the longest now. The carbon I put there is fresh, or at least was 2 days ago. Got a new TLF 500 Im going to hook up now in addition to my other one.

Yea I had that, then decided to go back to running it on an opposite light cycle. Well that's not going to be a problem anymore since I don't have any culerpa left.
