Ok I just got a Copperband at the swap and I would like to hear some tricks on how I can get this sucker to eat. I have him in QT right now and would like to see what are some things people has done to get them to survive in there aquarium.

Live blackworms, and fresh clam on the shell.

I have done the same, Pet Land has blackworms and I buy Hikari frozen products, and yes, get their Clam On A Half Shell bag once a week I throw one in the tank & he goes crazy on it!!!

After I got him to eat the blackworms, what I do every 2 days I make a mix of Mysis Shrimp, Blood Worms, Krill, Mega-Marine Angel, & Spirulina Brine Shrimp all Hikari products, & that?s what all my fish eat.

& having good live rock is a plus they love to pick on rock all day long, my coperband took care of my Aiptasia.

What other fish you have in you tank? That plays an important roll if he will do well or not, if he will be in stress he will not do well, & we all know that will happen????

Live blackworms, live blackworms, live blackworms. Mine eats em like spaghetti. SLUUUUUUUUUUUUUURP

Ariel's approach is indeed the way to go... once he eats the blackworms get him going on frozen Spirulina Brine then Mysis. I even mix them together to "trick" him into liking the mysis as much as the brine. I still feed live blackworms every so often too.

And yeah he'll graze a ton and clean out all your feather dusters, aiptasia etc first and pretty much constantly be hunting. Don't be shocked if he picks at your snails a little too.

Yeah mine is a timid eater too. When the rest of my lunatics go bonkers for food, he kinda loiters in the background. I've taken to dumping the food in the tank in several spots (one of them being right above a powerhead) so that he can get his while the others are going all you can eat buffet crazy.

I started mine on blackworms and eventually started eating the prepared foods in the tank. Took about 7 days to start eating mysis.
Had it about a year and is fat and happy eating mysis, cyclopeez, nutrimar ova, and enriched brine.
Awesome fish and I dont know if it is luck or blackworms work. Either way you should start it.
Pets Warehouse in Carle Place has live ones, they smell like crap but you can keep them outside this time of year.

I as well some times still feed live blackworms all my fish like it but the copperband the most.

I do see a difference between higher or lower quality miss shrimp, on the better quality ones it looks like there is less shell the he spits out, with food for your fish go with the better quality ones.
