So I did a water change last night, and before I did a water test, everything looks good. I think that I have to be more on top of the water changes, & slow down on dosing. I guess my tank just needed some fresh saltwater. Here are some pictures........
You would not have an algae issue with the results from that API kit. I would double check that against another tester. I had 40-80ppm but my API was telling me 0 as well. Not saying you have an issue but definitely would not trust that test for one second.
And the algae that I have been getting in the past 2 weeks is more like hair/grass looking algae on the sand bed, I got a lot of it out last night when I did the water change.
I'm using the Red Sea now. Just bought a hanna phosphate checker from brs since they were on sale. The Red Sea is great for nitrate and phosphate because it is much more granular. I wanted the phosphorous one but this was too good to pass up
If your nitrate is really 0 you will be able to get numbers between 0-4 to really know what they are and track changes more easily. Same for phosphate.
