Questions about a reverse osmosis filter for drinking water only

family wants a ro system for drinking and cooking only, already have a separate 5 stage system for fish. how many stages do I need for drinking?can anyone recommend a brand they use. do they make standard filters for drinking systems or do I have to buy expensive brand specific filters. Thanks in advance

You can just add on the components you need to add a 5g reservoir into your existing ro/di. Look at the drinking water kit from BRS for what parts your missing. They sell them individually.

Just need to bypass the DI resin for drinking water. As for container, that's your call.

cant use fish system for family use, its very far from kitchen.

I guess a 4 stage will be good. Just leave out the DI resin cartridge.

You can drink DI water, the whole thing about it sucking minerals out is why your GI system designed to prevent. Besides distill water and RO water technically doesn't have ions in it neither

Why waste your DI resin though? I think you need a pressurized container so you can get it to the faucet. I don't think distance would matter too much unless there's just no way to run the water line.
