Just want to share some pictures of my sun coral.

Wow. Mine sux compared to that. What's the trick? I tease it with cyclopeez till it opens. then I spray more cyclo on it to make sure its fed. What are you feeding that, it's gorgeous!

Sun corals open only in the dark, no light, when my white light goes out, then he opens up and even more when the actinic light goes off, I feed every other day, Mysis Shrimp, small krill, they need meaty food.

When ill get my 120G one day?..my plan is to make a cave from the live rock, this way ill put him in & he will be open all the time.
now I have a 75G

I actually did that...kind of. Mounted him under a ledge. 50-75% of him is shaded. He hasn't opened like that though. Only time he opens is when I feed him.


So what method do you use to feed it? Julians? I was taking a two liter bottle to cover it so the fish couldn't get the cyclo. I guess ill do the same thing but use Mysis instead.

Well I took a 2.5 or 3 gallon bottle cut the bottom and cover him, & than I feed from them top.

I really have the greatest spot for mine. I didn't know they liked it that shaded. I think I'm going to take your lead and move mine to a cave I built. Been trying to figure out how to decorate it, and this is a perfect solution. Thanks Ariel!
