That's true, but, i don't think its a fair comparison. to buy a MP40 you have to send 3.5 times as much. You should be getting that kind of service. I don't think anyone that bought this pump, including myself with two, is expecting the same type of customer service as Ecotech.

For the price, i think they are a good deal, even if i had to spend another $15 on a new power supply. If they last me two years i'm Ok with that.

I'm in the train of thought that if it costs you multiple times throughout the life of the pump to get it fixed, then the life of the pump is shorter than let's say the vortechs and you have to replace it early when you add it all up the Vortech may not actually cost that much more in the end.

It's not just with these and other aquarium products, it's everything in general. The saying you get what you pay for will ALWAYS surface and play true in purchases.

My point was they honoring their product and providing the support no questions asked.

I know for many scenarios you still have to send your pump to ecotech for repair and you are just as on the hook for the shipping charges.

Just to counter that point. We had over 12 dozen units ordered for the GB and I only heard of one issue which was with the controller not reverting to the selected settings after a power failure. It still worked and Jebao fixed it without question. Now its only been about six months so I guess time will tell...

Agreed, although, MP40 have their own longevity problems, water side replacement, bearing noise. So in the long run, two years or more, their cost is much higher than replacing a WP40.

In my opinion Tunze is still a better buy than Vortech, if longevity is the only criteria. I just could not see myself spending so much money on a pump.

I have a Vortech MP40 and a Jebao WP40 and love them both. It is very hard to not like the Jebao's at the price and for a wave maker it is fantastic

Not cheaper than ecotech when the replacements are for free and every time even the very first time within a real short time jabao charges for the fix.

Hey man, all you guys can stick up for them and like them all you want. There are FAR LESS Jabaos out there than vortechs and they're "DYING" in 6 months or less.

The vortechs have been out for years now and the majority of them never gave issues to the users. You don't have to do a million mods to have the modes the come with to work better and they are in America. Have fun shipping to or waiting for them to ship from china to replace your powerhead.

Just wait until someone gets a replacement controller or propeller from china and it comes damaged from shipping. Then you have to contact them, most likey prove with photos it's shipping damage and then wait on another part from across the planet.

I'd rather a vortech with much fewer known headaches in he long run and quick turn around to fix the issues that arise. With vortechs you also have actual retaining of value for resale as well. Another thing I don't believe the jabaos will ever have.

I believe that my original comparison is indeed very fair- when a company introduces a product so similar in concept that even the name is so close to another it means that it was an intended target.

If you're going to target a product due to their overwhelming success and try to undershoot them with price, expect to be compared to them.

There is no comparison between the 2 quality wise though.

The jabaos also haven't been out for long enough to prove to remain more quiet than the vortechs. This will have to be proven over time. The only thing they've proven to me is to be a cheap knock off of a MP and to be way more hassles than the vortechs ever were. Basically a canal street vortech.

So who is fixing it fishstreet or Jebao? They are not the same company.

I was about to point out that Jebao agreed to fix it direct no questions asked but given the above statement I am confused now who is fixing it.

Like I said we ordered ~150 for the GB and I only heard of one slight issue which they agreed to fix no cost. Sure the Vortex is nicer but from what I have seen and heard the Jebao's seem like a pretty good alternative.

This debate could go round and round in circles so I don't think it merits much continued discussion.

They get imported to jersey. They are chinese made, so IF they start to fail on a frequent enough base that parts are back ordered it will be a nightmare.

Hey I hope everyone that has them continues to be happy with them but its a shame that someone that didn't take the bait and will choose to stick with a product that hasn't ever failed them can't express his/her opinion without people using a said product getting ticked off.

I sent the e mail to fish street and they know it was brought direct from Jeabo. The 25.00 charge is for the shipping from china to them and them to me so I guess its fish street. I don't really care who ships it as long as I get it.Eric was the person who emailed me from Fish street

Whatever, this thread is about jaebo no vortech. Lets keep it on topic, very tired of these debates. If you want to pay 3x more you *should* expect 3x the service.

I'm happy to see the OPs issue addressed with no questions and only paying shipping charges...thats a good deal in my book and a company doing right by their customer.
