My first time setting up a sump on a tank. So I got a hob overflow box which is rated 800gph and I plumbed with those grey tubes and my return pump is 850 gph. My tank to me doesnt seem to be working properly can someone pls help me on what to do thank you

sounds like the pump isn't strong enough. you have to look up a curve chart to see what the head pressure rating is, how high is the return above the pump.

A pump that claims to pump 850gph is getting that figure from straight from the output end of the pump. For each foot of PVC you attach, you lose 'X' amount of 'head' pressure (what is coming out of the output end). For each elbow and bend in the plumbing, you lose even more pressure, and if you split the return line into 2 returns, even more.


What size is your tank?
Can you post a pic of the way you have it plumbed?
