Currently I have a small 7 gallon ato storage container sitting next to the outside of the stand. I have to fill this up every 7-10 days. I was looking for something aesthetically pleasing thats larger with a flat lid. My idea is to give it the impression of an end table. Any ideas?

A custom acrylic box would be nice, I would like it to be black though. It wouldn't be inside any furniture, but would sit next to the stand. Im looking for something that resembles an end table.

It's going to be difficult to get a piece of plastic or acrylic to look like an end table. I would actually use an end table and put a plastic or acrylic box inside. If you go on us plastics.com you can order any size container that you need. I have a black abs plastic container from there and it could resemble an end table somewhat :)

This is what I did...Made a little cabinet to fit a 5 gal Poland spring container in then stained it to match my tank stand

This is a good idea.

I also like the ottoman style. Just not sure if I can find one that opens up like that and is big enough. I wanted something to be at least 10-20 gallons so I do not have to fill the reservoir as much. I was actually thinking of draping a black tablecloth over a 20-25g brute pail lol.

So i have an issue. I want to fill this pail as much as possible (to the top preferably) but every time the toms aqualifter pump kicks on, it fills the sump to the proper level, then the pump turns off as normal but the water keeps flowing due to a siphon. The tubing inside the pail is all the way at the bottom. Now, the logical thing to do would be to raise the airline tubing I have above the water line in the pail which is next to the tank. I don't have the height to do this. I zip tied it as high as I could to my return pipe and it's just loud now whenever the pump kicks on (long fall to the sump now) and in the end, the pail is still not filled to the top. I get about 15g out of it. what to do? what to do?

You need a pvc pipe higher than the pail kind of like a rain gutter down side of house. Have the aqualifter dump the water at the top of the pipe and it will run into the sump. The open space between the tubing and the pvc will act as a siphon break. Good luck. Not a tough problem to solve but you need to figure out how to mount that piece of pipe.
