I have a question and I need some help I have a 125 tank non r/r but I'm going to have it drilled on the left and right side it's gonna be 1.5 bulkhead and I wanna put in the middle a 1inch bulkhead but at the bottom of the tank which will be the return.im gonna put a y pvc there I wanna run a 1 inch tube under the sand to the front of the tank then Put lock lines at the end do u think it will work? And wats the pros and cons with it ?

I think the risk of catastophic flood outweighs the any benefits of plumbing a tank this way.

I wouldnt want to come home and find 125 gallons of water on my floor.
Thats a disaster waiting to happen

Your water will drain to where your returns are set, in this case the bottom. That is what the above comments are alluding to.

What you probably saw was a closed look system.
