I have a 120 gallon tank with 2 inlets and 2 outlets. There are absolutely NO MICROBUBBLES in the return chamber of my sump/refugium yet they are in my display tank. 1 return pump is a mag 9.5 and the other return pump is a mag 7. whats the way people find out how the air is getting inside? Is it those split forks on the return with all those knuckle joints? They arent and can not be fully submerged they way the tank is designed. Do they get replaced as general maintenance?

do you have a bubble trap in your sump. i don't think you can see the finer bubbles in sump because of lack of light.
your return line is under pressure so i think it will leak not suck air. the nuckle things are called lock line.
why are you using different size pumps?

1- the different sized pumps came with the tank as I'm the 2nd owner. Should I pick up another mag 9.5? (I kind of liked the idea of different areas of the tank having different currents.) is that bad?
2- I have a light over my sump for the refugium part. The micro bubbles pretty much end there and any left would hit filter floss and sponges. Believe me I sat there with the light on and a flashlight laying on the floor looking for 20 minutes!

If it were my tank, I would have 1 return pump with the return line split with a "T" to feed both returns.
2 seperate return pumps is unesassary, and generates more heat (which is no bueno in the summer, when it's hard to keep a tank coo anyway).
I would only run the mag9.5.

So I should only run the 9.5 and split it up to return? Is a 120 gallon tank and the water will have to go up from the sump after splitting about 5 ft to the dual line locks so I'm saying 1 pump to power 4 outlets is sufficient? Will I need a wave maker I have sps and lps so i think I need flow? Please advise!

Thanks. Believe it or not the air bubbles have suddenly stopped for now. I'll check tomorrow. The only thing I did was adjust the lock line on the side being pushed by the mag 7.
