Anthias from live aquaria

I plan to order a batch of lyretail anthias from liveaquaria and I was wondering if any1 have any good tip for me for getting them to start eating or getting acclimated to a new system

I have never had a problem with a fish eating from liveaquaria. I would just acclimate them the way they say to with the included paper and you should have no problems.

I've been told that anthias are notoriously finicky eaters though

Many anthias are finicky, but Lyretails are the least finicky/hardiest of them all. They should start eating without issue.

order em at Max reefs or coral theory! The price will be better as your not paying shipping and they will have healthy fish. I got one from coral theory and he eats everything that's not nailed down

Thanks for the info. I will look into those venders. I have wanted to take a trip to maximum reefs for quite a while but never got a chance too.

My choice of ordering from LA is due to the fact that I can get the male and female ration lyretails as I want

Lyretails are probably the most common and esiest to obtain species of Anthias and can be found at most of our local LFS and vendors especially on LI..also as mentioned one of the hardiest and easiest to get eating. So no need to spend the extra cash for shipping ect....the only question is which of the two species Lyretails you prefer...DD is good for those hard to find species that we dont see in our area...

i have had better luck with local vendors than fish that were shipped. that said, dd is the only place i would ever buy any animal online.

i've gotten many fish from coral theory. they're always healthy and eating by the time i pick them up. poto (piece of the ocean) is another one of my favorite vendors, especially for fish.
