thats great. music to my ears. my night has actually gotten better now thanks.
Me personally I got rid of all my rocks and my sand. Tomorrow(depending on weather) I will start using poly filter pad and some cuprisorb and get a copper test kit. hopefully everything will measure at low levels and I won't have to run the cuprisorb long

@piranahpat
so you would suggest running carbon as well as my poly filter pads and cuprisorb?

thought I would get more responses then this on beginner corals. so far Ive been told I can go with some nice zoas. Got to be other corals then just that

I like these fungia. only problem I am seeing is that they like to move all over the place. I would like a rainbow anemone and some other sort of anemone possibly a carpet or some bright colored anemone. With these fungia moving all over the place I don't want them to run into each other

It's funny you say that. I had heard that they can move, but have had 3 in my tank for over 3 years without any of them moving UNTIL LAST NIGHT. I have a diamond goby that started dumping sand on my largest fungia (about 6" diameter) and it moved about 1" last night.

I imagine these are placed at the bottom? I was just wondering about gobies spitting sand all over my sand placed corals. So how much should I look to pay for one or possibly more depending on color and size of these at the frag market?

Yes, fungia go on the bottom of your tank (see photo attached). I've seen them range in price from about $20 up to $200 depending on color and size. If you are going to get an anemone, I would suggest a bubble tip or rock anemone, they don't usually move around too much once they settle in. The others (including any carpet anemone) will move all over your tank and sting corals as they go.

very nice looking fungia. Yes i was thinking about a bubble coral. I am beginning to like the rainbow anemone. I am thinking I should buy the anemones first, let them settle and then place my corals

It is with great pleasure to let everyone know that I went out and bought a copper test kit. My tank registered/tested no copper in my tank. Many people say these are unreliable so I went and took it a step further. I went to my LFS and bought 3 snails and 3 crabs since we all know they can't survive/live if there is any trace of copper in tank. Looking at the tank this morning they are ALL doing fine. Just grazing the rocks and chill in. I was a little surprised being the fact my nitrates are sky high and they can't tolerate high nitrates. Time for a water change. After doing my water change and getting my nitrates lower I will go out somewhere and buy a cheap easy coral and see what happens
