Any tips on removing surface film?

Ever notice the thing film that develops on the water surface? Is there a way to minimize it/remove it from the tank?

I do have a skimmer but no surface skim with this HOB skimmer.

You need more water flow thats going to move the surface of the water

you need a surface skimmer such as an overflow and alot of surface agitation as well to minimize or get rid of the film..

Thanks guys. I actually just increase the surface agitation was just wondering if there was any other means. I have read of pre-skimmers and such. Whats your take on those?

I've never used a pre skimmer but what skimmer are you using on your tank at the moment?

I would honestly try buying 2 powerbeads placing them on opposite sides of the tank and aiming them at the surface and see how that works out for you..

using a HOB CPR Bak Pak R2. I'm running 2 Koralia 425's in the tank both at aimed towards the surface but I will try to have them facing eachother on opposite sides towards the surface. As of now I have one in the middle on the right side wall and the other on the rear wall, next to return facing the front glass.
Return nozzle has a Hydor deflector attached.
Will do it in the am and post results. lights just went out and don't wanna turn them back on just to move powerhead.
