Anyone use faucet timer on rodi?

Does anyone use one of these auto shut off timers for their rodi?

I was gonna do ur regular auto shut off with float switch but makes me little nervous

I use those for drip irrigation. They work well. Think thats a good way to get a solenoid, power supply, and timer all in one. Great idea! I would still use the float valve and switch as a backup.

I love the idea! I used to use one of these when watering my lawn and it worked great.
I do like the suggestion for using the float switch as a back up too.

I have a float switch and I don't trust it. In fact i find its very prone to causing leaks both from where the float switch connects to the tubing, as well as from the DI stage as pressure builds up inside your RODI unit until the auto shut off valve engages. I think this adds some redundancy. I would test it out a bunch while you are home and see how it goes. MY system shuts off automatically but some water ends up leaking from here or there 3 out of 5 times. I have tried replacing ferals, tightening everything up as tight as i can possibly get it without breaking it, putting keg lube on the RODI canister gaskets you name it.

Yep, the more backups the better! You can get those leak detectors that have a solenoid valve also for a 3rd failsafe too.

Genius. I use one of those for the garden. Or at least I did when it was new. Never thought about using it for RODI. What a great idea. Good job and thanks for the idea.

Well my biggest issue with my new tank is I never have water In hand I feel like I'm constantly making rodi water for days in a row !
I need about 50 gal a week so I really have to automate it just wanna make least likely too flood

Use this and plumb it into the tubing right before it goes into your RODI.
When the float switch activates it shuts off the supply to the filter and you will not have over pressurization problems.

I'mbarrie ill look into it u use that with a asov ? I'm not looking to auto fill my rodi reservoir just to have a 55 gal drum always full with rodi water automaticity shut off with a fail safe!

Can u explain how urs works ?
