Hi,

My friend bought a jellyfish today to put into his 10g tank. He had a whole other bunch of fish including clowns and what not. After I told him the special care they needed he said he was going to just flush him. I felt bad for it so I took him home. Currently he is in my 14g biocuhe with nothing but an orange spotfile. I turned off the powerheads and everything but I know NOTHING about these things nor did I ever plan to own one. Any help would be appreciated as far as food and if he will even survive

And unfortunately he was given very bad advice by rosalbo pets. (HORRIBLE local fish store) . Although people should research before they buy, the owner also has a responsibilty to tell people that they cannot be housed in normal tanks.

If no one is interested just bring it back to the pet shop.

Also, did your friend tell the LFS what type of tank he was putting the jellyfish in? Doesn't seem like it, but if so this is a new low for Staten Island LFS's.

From what he told me, he told the owner that he had a 10g tank with nemos and other things. I went to the store after to talk to him, he has 5 jellyfish in a 10g tank with a power head. So he obviously doesnt know about them either. Shame because they are beautiful and I really dont want this poor thing to die but

ps I said nemos because my friend is new to saltwater and thats what he refers to them as.
