Diablo DC 3500 for freshwater only?

I ordered a Diablo DC water pump , I was reading the little worning booklet that it came with and it says the pump is for freshwater use only. I thought these pumps could be used for marine tanks. Can anyone chime in?

No experience with the pump. But CoralVue is showing Fresh or Marine applications.
