I have friend of mine using at large tuna model with his 550 gal system and then smaller one for 200 gal reef system, he loves it.... I have seen that in person..

Highly recommended, feeds off of cheap vodka, very little upkeep cost.


I got the medium size for my 90gal system, works great, though the small would handle my fish load. I've got so many fish I can't count heavy feedings, the aquaripure works well. Nitrates used to be at 20ppm a few years ago when I first got it and within 2 months brought it down to zero. You still need separate phosphate control as this doesn't do anything for it.


NOTE: It is possible to feed the effluent from the aquaripure (which is full of white bacteria slime) into a filter of some sort and this in theory will remove their biomass, which has phosphates in it. Personally I feed the effluent into my skimmer/which has a sponge bubble trap, but I don't know how effective this is.

Ive been using mine for over 4 years and I feel it helps out I dose 15mls vodka daily on my 450 system .I have a ton of fish and my nitrates hover around 10ppms

15mL a day? wow, you're using the large or XLarge? do you feel that 15mL a day is the maximum you can dose?

I have the one with 2 large chambers .not sure if its large or extra large .no sometimes when I see my nitrates climbing ill do 20mls a day for a week or 2 and they drop down .hownmuch are u dosing daily

2 large chambers is the Large, I'm using the single chamber, medium.
Compared to you, I'm very low, 8mL once a week, though 4-6 mL is probably enough.
No water changes, just top offs and supplements
Now I have to add up the fish in my 65 gal tank.
1 x 6" tang
4 x 4" tangs
1 x 3" trigger
1 x 3" angel
1 x 4" damsel (damn 3-stripe is bigger than the angel and trigger)
12 x 2" damsels
2 x blennies
1 x 2" cow
1 x 2" butterfly
4 x clowns
so that's 8 large fish and 22 small ones, I think I'm missing a few.

Looks awsome buddy great growth .I have I woukd say close to 50 fish in my 300 gallon main tank then with sump and other tanks attached I have about 450 gallons of water .how often do u need to adjust the outflow from ur aquapuri? Also what are u doseing to it vodka ?

Yes, I use vodka, I flush the outflow 2 or 3 times a week whenever the flow rate slows down. On the weeks when I skip a few feedings, I flush it out just once a week, since there is no visible slowdown.

Same here how fast of a drip rate are u running it .or is it like a stream
