what mike was asking was what seperates a good reefkeeper from a bad reefkeeper. even if someone has dedication or love for their tank doesnt mean they have a successful tank. How do you define a successful reef keeper.

Do you guys see yourself in this hobby as successful and if you do please write why.

If your still far from your goal what is your goal. maybe this thread can elaborate what we need to be successful.
This is a Opinion thread which allows MR to see what every other individuals think about their own tank and their goals.

I agree with dedication and patience and would like to add a solid foundation of knowledge ( not a dogmatic one) and the most elusive... an intuitive sense of what is going on in your system. Can the later be cultivated? I think to a degree.

Randy
I couldn't agree more Randy, the intuition you gain by spending the time to care for your system, is all the dedication everyone speaks of. I think, it helps maintain a strong reef/marine environment, you don't need know allot, but your sense of whats going on and acting on it, makes a GREAT reefer....I believe the previous posts are terrific and show a deep rooted excitement for this hobby (BD post). Love is good, but we all wouldnt be in this if you didnt already love it.

Spykes is correct....that is the main focus of this question......thxs D...college boi

A good reek keeper... hmmmm.. Hard to define. I like to consider myself a reefkeeper who is always learning. There is so much information out there and so many diffrent ways of doing things. I talk to some of you guys and gals here on this board and sometimes I feel like know nothing and that maybe I am bad reefkeeper. Everyday you learn something new right? Well I learn it right here!
