Not sure but I think the picture is magnified. I use the GFO from BRS but the shipping is crazy. Tried looking at another site I was told about but there out of stock. Anyway my son saw the email and ordered it anyway to see how it is and test it out.

I ordered 1lb last week and the only negative i have is that the GFO granules are significantly smaller in size than TLF Phosban GFO (which i usually use).

It is a bit harder to get the flow right in my reactor with such smaller granules, also these took about 15mins of rinsing before i placed them in the tank.

As far as performance, it has reduced phosphates as expected, but im not sure about efficiency and life time of this product compared to Phosban which has larger granules that i can force more water through in my reactor.

Also shipping was quick, no complaints there.

Bottom line, i suspect i will be replacing this quicker than i do with Phosban, but it cost about $3 cheaper for about 3x times as much product.

I've been using it for a while now. Its hard to judge for sure, but as far as I'm concerned it last just as long as BRS. I haven't run into any problems. As far as leaching phosphates back, I don't believe any GFO does that. The bond is too strong. It just gets exhausted and stops working.
