RO/DI filter setup?

So I've been using tap water in my 29 mixed reef for months now but lately I've been having some algae issues so I decided to setup an RO/DI that I bought a while back. I took out the old filters, dumped whatever water was in there, and now have it setup like this.

While I was removing the old filters I got curious and wanted to know if the carbon block was actually a block of carbon. It was.

Is there anything else I need? I didn't wash the filters before I put them in, should I take them out and rinse them in dechlorinated tap water? Also, will the waste water come out of the blue line or the red line? Thanks.

Where is your RO membrane & DI?

RO usually has 3 outputs for in out waste, out good to DI to further reduce to 0.

Membrane is up top, I don't have a DI, how should I go about adding that? I see the in, but how do I distinguish between the out and waste? Thanks
