Another DC pump failure

Yesterday morningI was down my basement and I didn't see my refugium light on so I went into the fishroom to realize that it was unplugged from the timer. I plugged it back in and everything back to normal however my skimmer was not working. The light on the controller were on but the pump was DEAD!!! I unplugged the power from the controller and everytime i plugged it back in sparks were comin out!!!! So I unplugged the power and went to work. The pump is a DC5000 by Waveline and it runs my skimmer made by RLSS. I called Aquarium Specialty first thing in the am and if another week would've passed I would've been SOL because they sent me the skimmr on 3/15/13 so I was covered by their warranty. The put a warranty claim and supposedly the new pump went out yesterday.........I don't know if I can trust these pumps anymore!!!

That sucks. Unfortunately I'm not at all surprised though.

The tank is doing good. I am guessing the pump was off for a few days and my acans didn't look to happy.
