Pros and cons of bio pellets?

I am considering addin bio pellets to one of my reactors. What are the pros n cons , do's and don'ts ?

Do your research. There is alot of info out there about them.
You need correct amount, correct flow, output must go into the skimmer. Also, you'll need very good low range nitrate and phosphate tests.
