need to add magnesium to my tank.. i bought esv it says to add 1.5ml per gallon of water.. how do i measure that.. i have 140 gallons total water volume....

If you have tested for mag and its been found lacking you should plan taking a while to raise it. The back of the bottle should specify that the dosage is per day. According to the instructions you should be adding 210ml each day but take it slow. You can probably space it out even more to shock your animals less.

hey mike,
you need to put in 1.5 x 140 = 210ml
couple diff ways
1 oz = 30ml so put in 7oz or just under a full cup(8oz)
or 1 tablespoon(real kind for measuring not table ware)
1 tablespoon = 15ml so you need 14

Yes. I can't remember where, but I have read that magnesium can poisonous in higher concentrations to corals and other invertabrates.

thanks, that good to know. i guess testing b4 dosing mag is more importatnt than i thought.

i tested my mad very low thanx to slame who showed me how to do the test right.... 210 ml add half in the morning the otherhalf at night?
