I ordered 80 lbs of CaribSea Arag Alive sand (.5-1.5 mm). The package states there is no need to rinse the sand. I know that if it arrives dry, its no longer 'live sand' but I'm wondering if I should rinse it anyway.

I'm curious as to if this would help with water clarity in the beginning, prevent bacteria blooms, prevent unwanted things getting trapped in the sandbed??

If so, rinse with tap, RODI or saltwater?

I doubt any sand labeled "live" is actually live anyway. That's just my opinion however I would rinse all and any sand I get thoroughly. I rinsed mine with tap until it was clean then with RO 3 times. Just sharing my process.
