Are all the parts I need for plumbing minus the bulkhead available at hardware stores like Home depot. I want PVC, Ball Valves unions etc

You need to go to lowes. Home depot selection is hit or miss depending in which location you go to.

+1 lowes is the best for plumbing stuff locally. Their ball valves are higher quality too!
