unfortunate accident got scratches on glass. is there any remedy other than buying a new tank

IME, only the 'finest/lightest' scratches have any possibility of being removed from glass...if you can 'feel it' with your fingernail, it is probably beyond repair! In addition, attempts at repairs/removal will often 'distort' the glass, making it worse.
